One Particular Wave

Everything is connected.
Everything changes.
Pay attention.

This may sound like a tagline for the next season of Heroes, but it’s actually part of the mystique that is oneparticularwave. Not a lot is known about the author of oneparticluarwave - or rather, he gives very little away about himself. The about section of his blog containing the bio: “I am me. oh me oh my.” along with a reference to The Wizard of Oz and two songs that characterize him. Your eyes might strain to see the tiny hyperlink at the extreme bottom of the page marked “Pay attention” which will take you to his Myspace page.

Well, now that the mystique is out of the way lets get down to the nitty-gritty.

oneparticularwave isn’t a music blog as much as it is a revolving art piece. Like Motel de Moka, it concentrates on aesthetically pleasing elements (pictures, poetry, sounds) to get it’s point across, with very little actual commentary. Common post themes include “Song of the Day” and “YouTube Video (song) of the day” which are always welcome. OPW is not the blog to come to for the latest music news commentary but rather the one to come visit in the morning to set the mood of the day, or in the evening after a long day.

On the technical side, OPW is a sophisticated WordPress blog, which means that it comes with all that WordPressy slickness that makes all the Blogger kids blush. Search and Archive functions work well, which is always a plus. The only downside I can find about OPW is that some of the songs are posted using Odeo, which I’ve never had good experiences with, but that’s just me being picky.

Overall, though, Oneparticularwave is a bookmark-worthy blog.
