Superette is a video weblog rather than an mp3 blog, posting music and music related videos with stunning commentary - and if you know French, the commentary is even better!
What amazes me most about Superette is how they are able to dig up these gems of videos amidst the slew of crappy live recordings. The blog boasts an average of 200 posts a year, but maybe it’s the fact that most music blogs focus on song files which blinds me to the whole other world of music video. In fact, there are so many videos embedded on this site that my browser struggles to keep itself open, and crashed several times while writing this.
A cool feature of Superette is a nifty little concept called “Versus,” which pits two music videos together to battle it out.
One downside to those who do not know French and are distracted by all that foreign jabber, the RSS feed for Superette does not include the media information, which means that if you were to view the RSS in a reader such as Google Reader you would not be able to see the videos in the feed. If they improved upon this point (put the media info in the feed) Superette would be the perfect early morning feed to check if you wanted to get a dose of sweet beats before your day.
If you do know French, the posts are organized by an extensive tagging system, which works well - but French or no French, Superette is a fantastic music video blog.
