boasts the headline of Tuneage, the first music tumblelog I’ve covered in the They Bring The Music To Us series, and one of the few music tumblelogs around period. Tuneage certainly talks the talk with the air of pretension that all most music blogs have about them, but can it walk the walk?

If you know a thing or two about blogs then you know that tumblelogs are a whole different ballgame, or at least they should be. While tumblelogs can act in many or all of the same ways that “traditional” blogs do, they are inherently different at their core. Tuneage chooses to stick with the roots of tumblelogging, which means a few things:

1. NO comments
2. NO archive
3. NO tagging

In fact, Tuneage is a dream blog for anyone obsessed with tracking things via RSS (*cough* Evan *cough*), as no background content is lost.

Now what does this all mean in terms of this review?

It means that I’m torn.
In terms of content, Tuneage is all there, it’s smart and well thought, which is not surprising considering the group of powerbloggers that contribute to it who are well experienced in blogging, both music and otherwise. The variety of content is there as well with each contributors varying tastes and they are even coming along in terms of features with this past Sunday’s recap playlist.

In terms of technicality however, if you’ll recall one of the main criteria I developed when first starting out this series:

“A blog could have the most poetic and thoughtful writing you’ve ever seen. The blogger could like every single band you like and agree with every single one of your opinions, but if you can’t access this content due to bad structure and readability then that blog isn’t good.”
