March 18th, 2008 by Brandon Kiser · No Comments

Another week breezes by in the cycle we call life, and music accompanies us the entire way. What’s new in this segment of the cycle? How about a new top 5 on the charts, a few new album releases and a Sean Combs - LA Times altercation to round out your music news deprived week?

Starting off with new album releases, there are quite a few:

The A.K.A.s - Everybody Make Some Noise!

Be Your Own Pet - Get Awkward

Danity Kane - Welcome To The Dollhouse

Destroyer - Trouble In Dreams

Flo Rida - Mail on Sunday

Haale - No Ceiling

Adam Green - Sixes & Sevens

The Hush Sound - Goodbye Blues

The Kills - Midnight Boom

The Matches - A Band In Hope

Yael Naim - Yael Naim

Rocko - Self-Made

She & Him [Artist Profile] - Volume 1

Keith Sweat - Just Me

And the Top 5 on the charts?:

1. Usher Featuring Young Jeezy - “Love In This Club”

2. “Chris Brown - With You”

3. Flo Rida Featuring T-Pain - “Low”

4. Sara Bareilles - “Love Song”

5. Rihanna - “Don’t Stop The Music”

And finally, the music news story of the day, the accusation by the LA Times that Sean Combs and his associates are responsible for Tupac’s murder. Diddy denies the claim of course and said the following:

The story is a lie, […] It is beyond ridiculous and completely false. Neither (the late rapper Notorious B.I.G.) nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during or after it happened. I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story.

The LA Times backs the story up with FBI records.

There’s your music news for this 18th of March, be sure to check in again in a week for some more music news hunger nourishment.
