Another week under the belt (OK, make that 4) and one more week ahead of us that is no doubt filled to the brim with music. We’ll take a peek at new album releases, music news, and the leaders on the Billboard charts. So hang with us, and you’re guaranteed to feel musically enlightened.
New Album Releases
Madonna and Justin Timberlake team up to create the anticipated 4 Minutes which is set to be released this week. The album receives it’s name from the previously released single, “4 Minutes.” The single is currently #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
On the heels of his American Idol appearance and performance, Neil Diamond releases Home Before Dark an album that includes the song he performed on the Idol stage “Pretty Amazing Grace”
In addition to these releases, Iron Maiden comes out with a Best-Of album titled Somewhere Back In Time. Ja Rule is also releasing an album, The Mirror.

The Billboard Hot 100 results are as follows:

Music News
The Police Announce Their Final Show - Ever.
From Billboard.com:
The Police and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg today (May 6) announced at a press conference in Times Square the band’s final concert ever, to be held in New York on a date still to be revealed in August.
This final concert — for which ticket and venue information have yet to be announced — will be a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the production of arts programming for public television stations Thirteen/WNET and WLIW New York. Tickets will be available nationally online via the Thirteen/WNET and WLIW Web sites.
In other news, for whatever reason, the drug addicted Pete Doherty has been released from jail. Plus, My Bloody Valentine has released their US Tour details
