Hello ladies and gents, I’m back from my break with another blog to add to the annals of They Bring The Music To Us, Destination Out

Do you like jazz music, and I mean really like it? Well you’ll be in good company with Chilly Jay Chill and Prof. Drew LeDrew, authors of Destination Out who specialize in jazz sounds. Heretofore on the TBTMTU series we haven’t featured any jazz specific blogs, and I’m proud to name Destination Out as our first. With a clean cut look, intelligent and thoughtful commentary Destination Out has cemented itself as a major player in the jazz blog scene, earning recognition from The New York Times and BBC.

I was once witness to a couple of guys (jazz musicians themselves) who did a presentation on the culture of jazz music as a religion for a class we were in, and although that may seem like stretching a concept, it is true that the under the radar culture of jazz music and aficionados is an entirely unique world many of us are not aware of. It is this type of enthusiastic ferver for jazz that can be seen in Destination Out.

The guys at Destination Out know their stuff and it shows in their Beginner’s Guide to Free Jazz in which they highlight and pick apart the specific elements that combine to create the genre known as Free Jazz.

Active since 2006, and boasting several posts a month, Destination Out has built up a devoted and intelligent fan base who are as knowledgeable about the subject of jazz as the authors are. For an added bonus to the reading experience of DO, I suggest you read the comments of each post where you’ll find more background information and some cool facts that the authors may have missed or left out.

So if you are a fan of the jazz, or just want to take a dip into the counterculture of euphony, as it were, take a long read and listen to Destination Out.
