I can not tell you how much I wish I had discovered today’s They Bring The Music To Us featured blog earlier. To me (and I suspect to music fans in general) A Plague of Angels is more like blessing of angels, that is if those angels gave you a bunch of .mp3s every day.

Let’s take a step back from our TBTMTU travels for one second and create a scenario, someone has used a time machine to come into our present day from the past, all the way, from the year 2000. We are now assigned the mission of briefing him on the new occurrences on the internet. Of course he knows what a blog is, but has no idea what a music/mp3 blog is. He has never seen the glitz and glamour and fancy layouts of the blogs of today. Now, you tell him that there is a person who has a blog and that this blog is doing something very special. You tell him that this person is putting up a few mp3 files for the reader to download every day or so with a little description of the artist, songs, etc.. What our time traveler would probably imagine would be A Plague of Angels.

This is the first time I’ve ever encouraged the type of behavior I’m about to encourage, but it would improve your quality of life greatly if you would subscribe this blog’s RSS feed (if that’s your kind of thing). The reason I say this is because A Plague of Angels offers no extra content, there is barely even a sidebar, this is a blog that does what it says on the box and nothing else. In fact, A Plague of Angels does its job better than some other blogs who try to compensate with the smoke and mirrors that are contests, fancy graphics and unrelated content.

The best way I can explain the appeal of A Plague of Angels is that it requires no thought, and what I mean by that is if you start reading this blog tomorrow you won’t feel left out, there’s no backstory involved, you won’t have to read previous posts to catch up on the authors life or references he’s making (except for that Jason Mraz reference). You can just sit back, and enjoy the tunes.
