May 21st, 2008 by Brandon Kiser · No Comments

In the music world, things are constantly changing. Bands form, break up, reunite and release singles. In the journalism department it’s our job to track it all for you. Every week, Listen In tries to bring in the most important and newsworthy events together in what we call the What’s New In Music feature. Typically posted every Tuesday, we’ll serve up new album releases, chart listings and news stories. So sit back, relax and soak it in.listenin-news.jpg

Album Releases

3 Doors Down - 3 Doors Down: A self titled album, it’s their first release since 2005. A band I’ve enjoyed since childhood their recent single release, “It’s Not My Time” has been doing well in the charts and so has the album as a whole.

Scarlett Johansson - Anywhere I Lay My Head: I’m going to guarantee this album will blow. TIME Magazine gave it a C-. It’s her Tom Waits - covers album and the aforementioned ‘zine calls it ‘dull and indulgent’.

Alanis Morissette - Flavors of Entanglement Although not yet released in the US (it will do so on June 20th) it has been released in Germany, Benelux and Brazil. Weird - but what else can you expect from Alanis?

Billboard Chart Rankings

1. Rihanna - Take A Bow

2. Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

3. Lil Wayne Featuring Static Major - Lollipop

4. Jordin Sparks Duet With Chris Brown - No Air

5. Usher Featuring Young Jeezy - Love In This Club
