This week’s They Bring The Music To Us featured blog is the refreshing Quick Before It Melts, which operates along the same vein as Fluxblog, except with pictures, which Fluxblog never has.
The posts on QBIM offer up one or two .mp3’s each, and contain more of how the posted songs make the author feel rather than the artists that produced them, although they still make room for interesting facts and figures.
In its first post in 2006 QBIM suggested that its inception may have come too late to become a popular music blog:
It might be a useless and futile attempt to make your way into the world of music blogging at this point in time (July 2006) but being late on the bandwagon hasn’t stopped people in the past, and nor is it really a bad thing.
But here in 2008, music blogging and QBIM is still going on strong.
QBIM has a crisp and clean layout that makes the posts easy to read, but there is no easy way to view older posts, back and foward buttons are entirely absent, so the reader must view a month at a time through the archives, which is a pain in the side.
Other than that, the last thing I have to say about QBIM is that if you are the type of person who “reads” music blogs solely for the .mp3’s they post, it’s probably not worth your time reading this one. However, if you read music blogs because you enjoy the discourse and opinions that the bloggers have on music, then this blog is worth checking out.
