Usher Announces a Ladies Only Tour

That’s right, the R&B elite is preparing a “One Night Stand Tour” that will be accessible for women only. When asked why he would something so strange he said: “There’s only a few artists that can pull that off. I feel like I’ve had such a connection with my audience. This album, I felt like, was definitely the type of one that was more intimate. So what better way to get up close and personal than to make it all women?”

We’ll see how this plays out.

No Flab This Time: Britney Spears to Only Open the VMAs

Don’t expect the kind of buzz from last years VMAs about Britney Spears, when she literally set gossip magazines ablaze. Spears will open the VMAs without a performance, only something “fun and unexpected”.

Spears on the so-called ‘honor’: “MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs? I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated.”

That’s the extent of this weeks What’s New in Music. Check back a week from now to read up on the next week’s music news.
